The W.C.Y.A.A. Board met on August 31, 2005, at the W.C.Y.A.A. offices in Lucama. The meeting started at 7:00pm. Those in attendance were as follows: Morris Jones, Kelvin Brinson, Bexley Eatmon, Adam Gardner, Jay Collins, Rusty Flora, Hilton Whitley, Richard Evans, and Todd Driver. Athletic Director Mickey Davis presided over the meeting.
Topics discussed were as follows:
Lee Woodard will hold the Four Man Super Ball Golf Tournament on September 23, at the Wedgewood Golf Course. The cost is $45.00 per player. All proceeds will go to benefit the L.W.Y.A.A.
Mickey gave each representative a copy of the financial statement sent in by Ashley Barnes, R.R.Y.A.A. treasurer. The gross was $10,398.38 and the net for the communities was $2,870.61. The R.R.Y.A.A. was given a check for 15% of the net profit ($430.59). Each community (minus Elm City) was then sent a check for $406.70.

Season will start September 17th.
Season will last five weeks with no end of season tournament.
Coaches certification classes will be held on the following dates and times:
Sunday, August 28 6:00pm

Tuesday, September 6 7:00pm
Thursday, September 8 7:00pm
W.C.Y.A.A. Rules meeting for fall ball will be held Wednesday, September 7, at 6:30pm
at the W.C.Y.AA. offices.
Paperwork and fees are due on Saturday, September 10th. Mickey will be at the
W.C.Y.A.A. offices from 8:00am to 10:00am.
Mickey and Brook have sent out over 20,000 notices for soccer, flag football, volleyball, and baseball/softball registrations through the county. They have sent notices to all day cares, middle schools, and elementary schools.
Mickey announced the following items:
Soccer evaluations will be held September 11 at the Rock Ridge Elementary School soccer fields.
Select tryouts will be held in late October.
State Babe Ruth Leagues, Inc. meeting will be held September 17th in Goldsboro. Mickey will attend and report back to the W.C.Y.A.A. board.
2006 Tournaments to be held in Wilson County:
14 Year Old Baseball World Series
9 Year Old Regional Baseball Tournament
8U Rookie State Baseball Tournament
District Four Tournament for ages 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, and 12U
Copier was repaired by Mike Taylor (Copy Pro). Paper was purchased from Staples along with toner from Copy Pro for a total cost of $650.00.
New W.C.Y.A.A. Treasurer is Gay Varnell of the Lee Woodard community.

The board discussed the Select/All-Star teams at length. After much discussion, Jay Collins made a motion to not allow anyone with ties to a player trying out for a select team be a voter for that team. Morris Jones seconded the motion. The motion passed by a 7-3 vote. This rule has now been added to the Select Team Rules.
Gym usage for the 2005-2006 Basketball Season:
Heat will cost $15.00 per hour.
School employee to open and close gym at $20.00 per hour. This person does not have to
stay the entire day.
$5.00 per hour for gym usage is still in effect.
Mickey suggested that each community use its after school program to save the $20.00
By having the first practice start at 6:00pm.
The 2005-2-006 Season will start Saturday, December 3.
Each team will play a 10 game schedule with a single elimination tournament to follow
the end of the season.
