Volleyball Rules for 2013 Spring Season
Elementary School Age Division
1. Each player may serve a maximum of 5 serves and then the opposing team will serve.
2. No jewelry of any type is allowed. If caught after the game begins, a point will be awarded
to the opposing team. This includes any hard hair devices.
3. Each team is allowed on time out per game.
4. Home team will pick side of court.
5. Coin flip will determine who serves first-visiting team will call. If third game is played, the home team
will call.
6. First two games are to 25. Winning team must win by two points. Third game will be played to 15 and winning
team must win by two points.
7. Players cannot play without knee pads. NO EXCEPIONS!
8. Each team must furnish a scorekeeper adn a line judge each game. Line judges will stay on the same
end during both games (or three games).
9. No players may play or practice without being on a roster approved by Mickey Davis.
10. Players serving will be designated a spot to serve from (by Mickey).
Middle School Age Division
1. Each player may serve a maximum of 5 serves. After five serves, the same team will
then continuing serving with the next player in line.
2. No jewelry of any type is allowed. If caught after the game begins, a point will be awarded to the opposing team. This includes any hard hair devices.
3. Each team is allowed one timeout per game.
4. Home team will pick sides.
5. Coin flip will determine who serves first-visiting team will call. If third game is played, the home team
will call.
6. First two games are to 25. Winning team must win by two points. Third game will be played to 15 adn winning
team must win by two points.
7. Players cannot play without knee pads. NO EXCEPIONS!
8. Each team must furnish a scorekeeper an a line judge each game. Line judges will stay on the same
end during both games (or three gamesd).
9. No players may play or practice without being on a roster approved by Mickey Davis.
10. Players serving over handed must serve from behind the end line. Younger players must serve from behind the
free throw line extended. A piece of tape will be put down before the first game.
High School Age Division
1. NCHSAA rules will be used completely except for the rules posted below.
2. No jewelry of any type is allowed. If caught after the game begins, a point will be awarded to the opposing team. This includes any hard hair devices.
3. Each team is allowed one timeout per game.
4. Home team will pick sides.
5. Coin flip will determine who serves first-visiting team will call. If third game is played, the home team
will call.

team must win by two points.

WAVE Volleyball Comes to Wilson County
The W.C.Y.A.A. will become a charter member of the WAVE in the Fall of 2012. WAVE is the travel ball of volleyball. This is an excellent opportunity for young players to sharpen their skills against strong competition. Tryouts will be offered in 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U.
